Off-grade or non-prime polymers are materials that fall outside a producer’s standard prime specification or commercial classification.
Variation may relate to colour, appearance, flow properties, density, packaging, transition material or another grade-specific parameter.
Off-grade does not automatically mean recycled or defective.
Suitability depends on the exact lot, available documentation, processing method and end-use requirement. These materials should be evaluated through supplier-document review, sampling and production trials.
